This Edinburgh Asda Store is 52,000 sqft and opened in 2003.

This £25m Asda Edinburgh was submitted for planning approval in 2004. The new supermarket opened in 2008.
Around 500 car parking spaces were proposed and a size of 41,000 sqft.
The new Asda Edinburgh store is located just north of Chancelot Mill at Western Harbour near the Newhaven / Leith border.

Keppie Architects, the designers for ASDA Supermarket in Leith also designed Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and worked on the Ocean Terminal, also in Leith. This well-known Scottish architecture office is headquartered in Glasgow. The studio has links back to the world-famous architect Rennie Mackintosh, who designed the Glasgow School of Art (sadly now badly damaged after two major fires ripped through the building in reent years).
