Bailie McMorran’s House Edinburgh
Date built: 1590 approximately
Location: Riddle’s Court, off the Lawnmarket – on south side, towards top of Royal Mile, Old Town
Good example of traditional Edinburgh house, with external stair, fairly random fenestration, rubble walls.
This property was built by Bailie John MacMorran. He was reputedly Edinburgh’s richest merchant.
