Your new company
Our client is a leading refurbishment company with a very impressive track record in the delivery of high-profile refurbishment projects in Edinburgh and beyond. They have ambitious plans for growth in Edinburgh over the next 3 to 5 years and this is supported by an impressive existing pipeline of work. As their team grows, they are now seeking to appoint a Project Manager to their business to run a large refurbishment project (£11million) in the middle of Edinburgh.
Your new role
As Project Manager, you will be reporting directly to the Construction director, and you will be fully responsible for the delivery of this project from setting up site to final handover. You will be the operational lead on this project, managing your site team effectively while liaising effectively with your commercial team, ensuring the project is hitting its operational and financial targets. You will also be expected to work closely with a set of external stakeholders such as client reps, architects etc.
What you’ll need to succeed
Our client is seeking a construction expert with a strong background in complex refurbishment projects in a city centre environment. Perhaps you have worked extensively as a Project Manager on large refurbishments already and are seeking your next project, but our client is also open to considering applications from experienced Site Managers seeking to step up into a Project Management position. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing positive site teams on-site and understand how to develop exceptional relationships with your supply chain, direct labour force and other stakeholders. You are ambitious and are seeking to take on more responsibility for a growing business with significant opportunities for development.

Builder Developer seeks Construction Manager to drive several large residential developments.
The client is a well-resourced builder developer who have been operating in Scotland for a long time and have delivered several award winning residential developments in their history. With 2023 taking shape they are commencing a large residential development in Edinburgh and are seeking an experienced commercially savvy construction manager to join their team and deliver this project from planning to handover.
As Construction Manager you will take a lead role in the overall success of these projects. You will be involved from the beginning and this involve procuring and appointing an experienced design team whilst at the same time developing and costing a feasible project plan. Once the projects commence you will then oversee the construction of the project from an operational and commercial perspective. Your key role will be managing your site teams in the effective management and delivery of these projects.
This is a high-end residential development aimed at the premium end of the market and will require someone with deep understanding of how large residential developments are put together from a planning and construction perspective.
What you’ll need to succeed
Our client need a real project leader who can lead a team of expert construction professionals ( architects, engineers, planning,site management) to deliver an outstanding project result. The ideal candidate will have a tertiary background in either construction management or site management and will be expert in the commercial delivery of large residential projects. You must have a strong track record of involvement in successful large residential developments and have an ambition to work on complex challenging projects.
This role would suit an experienced residential Project or Senior Site Manager looking to take on a more strategic and diverse role.

• Holds a relevant qualification i.e. Part III qualified, RIBA

e-architect have been doing guided architectural city walking tours since 2000, in cities such as Edinburgh, Glasgow, Istanbul and New York
During recent years we have expanded to include walking tours in cities such as Beijing, Lisbon and Rio de Janeiro – with 74 cities (at the time of writing in September 2015).
Architectural tour bookings vary month-by-month so the work is intermittent.
