Proficient and subtle early Park building
The headquarters for John Menzies’ Wholesale Division was among the first sites to be developed at Edinburgh Park. Thie office campus was masterplanned by the celebrated New York City architect Richard Meier. It used strict design guidelines with buildings and even landscape items having to fit into the 4 and 8m grid (Ed – I was the Project Architect for the A2 Building, later the Oracle offices).
This award-winning building has relatively narrow floorplates, with good levels of daylight and high thermal mass. The property design develops the same principles of a pleasant, energy-efficient workplace as previous architectural projects by Bennetts Associates. Rab Bennetts is Scottish, but practices from London.
