Store Redevelopment News
The former Edinburgh Debenhams at the Ocean Terminal is to be converted into giant community space with theatre and dance hall. The City of Edinburgh Council validated the proposal from the developers Turley who will be working on the new community project alongside a local charity organisation.
The plans propose converting two floors of the old Debenhams store at Ocean Terminal in Leith into a community-led space. The Heritage Centre for Leith would be on the ground floor – offering free exhibitions and presentations.
The centre would also have spaces for viewing and reading materials. On the first floor of the old Debenhams there would be a Heritage Activities Hub space for families, with a dance floor, theatre area and educational workshops.
