The two properties, the lower ground floor of a Georgian tenement and a three-storey warehouse, have been tied together through the insertion of a glazed roof over the narrow, separating courtyard.
Opal Lounge

Opened 20 February 2002 at 49 [51a] George Street (north side, basement): Members nightclub by Edinburgh architecture practice Malcolm Fraser Architects.
Revolution Edinburgh : former Beluga

Beluga opened early 2001: basement bar & restaurant. The interior is clean and restrained. Beluga’s key draw is a stacked stone waterfall by the entry stairs.
Oloroso bar

This classy rooftop restaurant closed on the 8th August 2012. It was converted to a Thai restaurant called Chaophraya.It is located high up at the corner of Castle Street and George Street, in Edinburgh New Town.
Traverse Theatre – the longest bar in Edinburgh (at the time of writing)

The Traverse Theatre design by Nicholas Groves Raines Architects is reputed to have the longest bar in Edinburgh, though this feature doesn’t strike you as you step down into the space, nor does it feel gimmicky.
Point Hotel Edinburgh

The Point Hotel was created by refurbishing the Old St Cuthbert’s Co-operative Association Ltd. Showroom building (by TP Marnick &Son, 1937) featuring reputedly the first curtain walling in Scotland.
