RSA 176th Annual Exhibition

Opening this weekend, including architecture section:-
For the first time in its history the annual Royal Scottish Academy Exhibition will be held outwith Scotland’s capital. This year’s Exhibition is being held from 9th to 20th March in the McLellan Galleries, Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow, as the RSA Gallery in Edinburgh is currently closed as work on the £26m Playfair project proceeds (will not re-open until early summer 2003).
NEW AWARD FOR ARCHITECTS:
Student architects at the RSA Students Exhibition can win a new award given by the Property Division of Standard Life Investments

HADDINGTON: MALTINGS
The derelict Simpsons Maltings site looks set to be become Haddington’s latest modern housing estate after plans to build 78 new homes on the flood threatened site were submitted to East Lothian Council. Traditional finishes and styles are proposed in order to ‘help blend in the new development with the surrounding houses’.
