These homes resulted for a third proposal to build houses on the opposite side (south) of the river from St Mary’s in this historic and beautiful setting.

Recognised with the prestigious Homes for Scotland Quality Award, this award-winning bespoke development of 60 homes was built using traditional materials and employing traditional construction techniques.
The traditional exterior of the houses and flats, with hardwood gates, complement the East Lothian architectural vernacular which was designed specifically for the conservation area of the Royal Burgh of Haddington. Briery Meadow is located on the wooded south bank of the River Tyne.
To harmonise with the semi-rural setting, over a third of the development has been left as open space featuring a formal garden with specially-designed wrought iron arbour, children’s play area and a wildlife meadow, which inspired the development’s name.
St Mary’s is Scotland’s largest Parish Church and the riverside setting is one of the best in Scotland.
